The International Max Planck Research School on Adapting Behavior in a Fundamentally Uncertain World (Uncertainty School) combines approaches from Economics, Law and Psychology to explain human decisions under uncertainty more effectively and to better design institutional responses.

- The third Topics Workshop of the IMPRS Uncertainty was held in Trento, organized by the Doctoral School of the Interdepartmental Centre for Research Training in Economics and Management, University of Trento from 21.09.-24.09.2009. Program
- The third IMPRS Uncertainty Summer School was held from July 26. until August 21. 2009 at the Max Planck Institute of Economics, Jena. (Schedule, Courses and Talks, Annual Report)
- The second thesis workshop was at the Friedrich Schiller University, School of Business and Economics in February 2009. The workshop gave students the opportunity to present the progress of their thesis projects to the IMPRS faculty.
- The second IMPRS Uncertainty Summer School was held from July 28. until August 22. 2008 at the Max Planck Institute of Economics, Jena.
- The second topics workshop "Making Decisions in Social Contexts" will be jointly held by the Program in Cognitive Science and the Workshop in Political Science and Policy Analysis at Indiana University, Bloomington from September 1 till 3, 2008.
- The first thesis workshop was held at the MPI in Bonn from February 19. – 21. 2008. Here students presented the progress of their thesis projects to the IMPRS faculty.
- The first topics workshop "Less is More" on heuristics was held at the MPI in Berlin from December 10. - 12.2007.
